Rotary Mower:- string of Clippings left behind!
I was given this "modern" (well 20 year old) Hayter Badged Stiga Rotary.
Trouble is it leaves a narrow trail of clippings behind!
Could it be a problem with the outflow into the grassbox (nothing is broke, although could do with cleaning and polishing)
Or could it be the fins on blade? Or blade Length?

Thank you for the information
Thank you for the information, when it stops raining I will look at it; clean the vent holes in the plastc grass box and clean the cutter-deck.
I have wrecked our usual mower; a Hayter Harrier 56 Autodrive (of 1991, fitted with 1997 deck) by mounting the flower border edging and bending the crankshaft!
So another boring Briggs and Stratton job to delay more important projects.
Nevertheless; The extra exercise of using non-power driven mower's is beneficial in fighting the flab I suppose!
Has your H56 got a blade
Has your H56 got a blade brake clutch or the standard slip disc arrangement? I have a vague memory that at some point the machines with the slip disc had a " lifetime guarantee " against bent cranks and that they would be repaired FOC.
No, it wasn't any of the
No, it wasn't any of the Harrier's that had warranty on the crankshaft, it was the Ranger, Martin was very surprised at Hayter when I claimed for a bent crankshaft on one.
I beg to differ. We only sold
I beg to differ. We only sold the Harrier range, never the Ranger which was actually a re-badged Stiga , so my memory only relates to Harriers.
Edit, just found this

Cannot argue with that, I had
Cannot argue with that, I had completely forgotten about the friction disc machines, probably because it has been such a long time since I filled in a warranty claim. The company I was working for at that time, sold very few domestic machines, it was one of the main commercial dealers.
I can remember claiming for the Ranger crankshaft because Martin didn't believe it was bent and I was the first to claim for one.
BENT CRANK ON HARRIER 56
BENT CRANK ON HARRIER 56 Autodrive:- Thank you both for interesting and factual input.
The Mower we bought second hand in 2001 for £40.00 at a farm sale 3 miles down the road, (so warranty not applicable from 1997 onwards)
The blade is on a friction disk., The engine shaft to hub, I have coated with coppergrease for easy removal.
After some minor engine work it ran ok, plus fibreglassed a big hole in the top of the grassbox.
Then around 10 years ago, the die cast deck disintegrated around the drive belt tensioner, so riveted and plated it up.
This lasted till 4 years ago, when we bought a donor mower at a "collective" auction for about £50.00 and I cleaned up and fitted the replacement (1997 built) deck.
The wheels have broke off many times, and been welded, I have also fitted a Villiers C12 fuel tank on the handle bracket bolts, as got fed up with refuelling.
Had a look to see how much new ones cost... £999.00
The blade looks ok so then
The blade looks ok so then check that the bag or box is sealing against the back of the machine. Then, check that the box or bag is venting properly. If a box give it a good clean out and clear any ventilation slots. If it's a bag which vents through the weave of the material , when bone dry, give the inside a brisk brush out with a stiff brush . Blasting with a pressure washer tends to turn dust to mud and force it into the weave so if you go that route it should be from the outside inwards.
