Suffolk Super Colt refurb

Hi all

I have been give a couple of Suffolk super colts and though it would be nice and give me something to do and keep me out of trouble. One of the doesn't run and is a pile of bits and I'm not even sure it's complete., the other one runs and cuts but is just tatty and needs a bit of TLC. This is the first time I have done anything with mowers so I have a few questions to ask before I start.

1, is there a manual of such for these mowers. I'm think worksop manual like a haynes type thing . I have a pdf of the operators manual but Im after something a bit more detailed

2, what are the paint codes or colours. 1 mower is red and green the other orange and green

3, where is the best place to get parts and are they ready available

4, the thread on the shaft that hold the flywheel on is damaged . I see it's a LH thread but does anyone know what the thread  size is so I can get a tap to  lea  it up.

Im sure I will have lots of questions as i go on and this will be a little project I will need to fit I  around work so it's not gonna  be a speedy rebuild 😂

Thanks I  advance and any guidance or advice would be much appreciated

Some of the older owners manuals are quite a bit more detailed than the later ones  - even if not for your exact model. Yes, Haynes did various different manuals and there are several different cover variations on eBay and Amazon. Even the Readers Digest did one.

Lots of parts available - eBay etc. Again, some of the older Owners Manuals have got good illustrated parts diagrams together with the original part numbers etc. For many years Suffolk made and used their own engines so with a bit of research you can find everything in one place. Have you looked at the manual sections of this OLC site?
