Ransomes Ajax mk5 cylinder bearing felt washers

Hi  all,

I am a new club member and am renovating an Ajax Mk5. I have stripped it down and replaced the cylinder bearings. 

I need to source the two felt washers in that go in the bearing case.

I have searched on the forums and online but can't source any?

 

Is there a club member who can help?

I think that they are the same as used on older Marquises etc. If so , readily available from Ransomes’  agents.

Several  changes of part number over the years, now 650000192.

I ordered some.

Here are the photos of the cleaned and replaced cylinder bearings and gears.

All clean and ready for assembly and you’ve got the correct oil gun, Ransomes have always recommended oiling, not greasing . Something that I always do is to soak the new felts in oil before assembly so that they are completely saturated. Gives them a good start and prevents any pick up on the shaft .

Hi,

I've lost the photo I took before dismantling the bearing.

Is the correct order 

Felt washer, metal disc, bearing, dust cap?
