Hayterette
Hi, newbie here. I have been given a Hayterette flail mower. I need the new starter/pull chord assembly that bolts onto the engine. It's a 3.5 hp B and S. I looked on ebay but found nothing but Hayterettes £50 plus. Where is the best/cheapest place to look? I don't know if it works so want the cheapest option to get the starter assembly fixed. I really like this mower as so light and can use it in long grass. Is it worth restoring? Are they good mowers? Thanks, Matt ps looks like this one..http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/hayterette-roughcut-petrol-mower-/13185034441…

Hayterettes are fantastic
Hayterettes are fantastic machines and will happily tackle grass and weeds that would scare a modern mower to death
The pull start your after can be rebuilt quite easily
springs are still available and cord is easy to find

To avoid confusion a Hayterette is not classed as a flail mower but as a rotary mower. Hayterettes are the classic push rotaries from the 1950s right up to the present day and well worth £50 if complete and undamaged.
If the starter that you need is the side mounted pull up one as per the one in the link that you have posted it is a Briggs and Stratton part and was used on various manufacturers' machines using 3.5 and 4hp Briggs engines so shouldn't be too hard to find as a lot of engines of that era will have been scrapped.
