Hi, new to this so excuse me. My B20 mower will not start. It has an unusual carberettor (not seen one like this before.) The petrol tank is situated below it and would like some info on what to look for. The mower was in use and ran ok 3 months ago,but now nothing. I have checked and cleaned the spark plug but it seems not to be getting any petrol. can anyone give me any helping advice as to what is wrong.

Are you sure it is a Commodore B20 ?

The engine sounds like a Briggs & Stratton and it wasn't fitted to a B20 as standard, any chance of a few pictures to confirm just what you have.

As H says, a bit of an oddity. May be a Heavy Duty 20 that's been re-engined with a Briggs.

Images please.

got the mower going thanks. After stripping the carb. and replacing no joy so we poured some fuel into the top of the engine and hey presto it started, seems as the fuel had dried out in the carb thanks mac1937this a picture of the carb/set up

If it is a B &S pulsa-jet, the fuel is pumped into a small tank just under the carb, inside the main fuel tank, which serves instead of a float bowl. Over time this tank dries out and you have to pull quite a few times before it fills again, or fill the tank brim full, or pour a little down the intake.

A bigger picture next time please.

Well that confirms it is a Briggs and Stratton engine, but how about standing back a bit and giving us picture of the entire machine ?

Seconded, nice pics but useless for identifying the machine !
