Super punch

Enter a word or two to search the forum section and click the Search Forum button.

Hi I'm a new member here. Me and a friend have come across three Suffolk mowers. I'm looking for help on age, history and any advise. First of all we have a 17' Suffolk super punch. It has a unit at the back above the roller with a wheel on it. It looks like a belt would have driven off the drive shaft. The unit has a union on one side that is threaded. I have looked around but can't find it use.

As ever an image would help but you may be describing the drive adaptor for a Tarpen ( Heli Strand) flexible shaft drive to power a hedge trimmer or a small chain saw.

I am sorry I did put a picture on but it hasn't worked. I shall try again.

Definitely looks like a Tarpen adaptor. Belt drive from the engine to the adaptor which accepted the flexible drive shaft. For more info just Google any combination of words Tarpen and Heli Strand.
